AES67, RAVENNA & ST2110-30 for Desktop, Cloud or Virtualized Applications
A cross-platform C++ SDK for macOS, Windows, Linux, and virtual machines. Enabling professional networked audio I/O in desktop apps, cloud environments, and containerized workflows.
Why RAVENNAKIT
RAVENNAKIT delivers a full software implementation of AES67, RAVENNA, and SMPTE ST2110-30. No special NICs, drivers or PTP-capable hardware required. The SDK uses a virtual PTP implementation that makes it ideal for cloud-native and software-only AoIP workflows.
Instead of spending 6–18 months building a compliant audio-over-IP stack yourself, integrate everything with a clean SDK and focus on your product.

What is included?
RAVENNAKIT comes with a lot of implementations of several technologies to support the audio-over-IP compliance. This sections gives a high level overview of what is included.
Demo application
A C++ based demo application is provided as example to how RAVENNAKIT can be integrated.
https://github.com/soundondigital/ravennakit_juce_demo
RAVENNA
Full support for RAVENNA as specified by the RAVENNA protocol.
AES67
Full support for AES67 as specified by AES67-2023.
ST2110-30
Full support for ST2110-30:2017.
NMOS
NMOS IS-04 is supported for discovery and IS-05 for connection management.
RTP
An implementation of RTP and RTCP to support the main audio-over-IP protocols.
DNS-SD
Support for DNS-SD is included to support discovery on local networks. This is currently implemented for macOS and Windows, support for Linux is planned.
PTPv2
The SDK implements a virtual PTP follower based on IEEE1588-2019. Support for hardware timestamping on Linux is planned.
RTSP
An implementation of RTSP (client and server) is provided to support connection management for RAVENNA.
SDP
The session description protocol (parsing and generation) is implement to support signaling between devices.
Core utils
RAVENNAKIT offers a lot of core utilities to support all of the above. There are classes for working with audio buffers, audio formats, generic containers, streams, lock-free programming, integer wraparound, uri and much more.
Open Source & Commercial Support
The SDK is released under the AGPLv3 license. This ensures that the core remains open and that improvements can be shared with the community. If AGPLv3 works for your project, you are free to use the SDK under its terms.
If you cannot or do not want to open source your product under AGPLv3 a commercial license is available. This license allows you to:
- Use the SDK in proprietary products without the copyleft requirements of AGPLv3.
- Keep your application source code closed while still benefiting from the SDK.
- Optionally bundle the SDK as part of a larger commercial offering.
Commercial Support
If you are integrating AES67 / RAVENNA / ST2110-30 into a product and want to reduce risk and time-to-market, we can help with:
- Integration support. Guidance and hands-on help integrating the SDK into your existing architecture.
- Feature development & extensions. Development of new features, protocol extensions, or optimizations specific to your use case.
- Performance & reliability tuning. Profiling, troubleshooting, and improving latency, robustness, and scalability in real-world network conditions.
